This web site is a tribute to Walt Disney and his genus in the entertainment world.
To the men and women (and kids) at the Walt Disney Studios who worked so hard
to bring wholesome entertainment into our homes each week.  A walk down
memory lane, a chase after childhood dreams, and a look back fifty plus years at
how things have changed and those ideals which remain timeless.

Animated 1955 Newspaper Headlines

TV Guide Cover October 1, 1955
I am neither an actor or a script writer.  I have dabbled in writing short stories but that is due more to the influence of Mark Twain than television, or motion pictures.
My association with the Adventures of Spin and Marty, if such it may be called, began with the arrival that last week in September of '55' of the October 1-7 issue of the TV Guide.  A weekend at least before the MICKEY MOUSE CLUB first aired on national television and two weeks before my tenth birthday. Like all the kids in my class at school--the boys anyway--the idea of a program about boys on a ranch, a real ranch, seemed exciting.  Especially so that bitterly cold, November of '55' with A-bombs and Duck and Cover drills being held at school.
Weekends, a boys usual release from school tensions, were spent--during the summer at least--swimming in the Mill River a block from our house and playing cowboys (or Davy Crockett) in the woods comprising the city park which bordered that river.

Thankfully Spin and Marty aired in the winter when our outdoor activities were somewhat curtailed.  The series let us remember the fun we had the summer before and think about what mischief we could get into the next summer.
My purpose, my mission so to speak, is to share my interest in and some little known facts about the filming of the series as well as several other films.  The long sought after answer to exactly where the TRIPLE-R ranch was or for that matter, if there ever had been a Triple-R ranch?  What has become of the Triple-R after all these years and who, if anybody, were there before Spin, Marty, Ambitious and the rest of the gang?
My only regret is that I have never been able to talk with the actors, the then kids actors especially, and pick their minds for memories.  I mean really sit down over a cup of coffee and swap stories about all we've accomplished sort of talking.  I'll always wonder if those kids had any sense, any understanding or even cared about the ground they were standing on?
